This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford class, we beginning a new Amberley Immersion Curriculum journey. We begin PSHE - Belonging to a community. We will be looking at rules at home, at school at outside. We will be looking at age restrictions and understanding why these are in place - to keep us safe, along with staying safe online. Please see the overview on the class page to see ways of supporting your children at home.

In English we are continuing with 'Not Now Bernard' and we will be comprehending the story and then retelling the story in our own words. Year 1 are really focusing on using finger spaces, capital letters and full stops consistently. Year 2 are now adding higher level punctuation into their writing and focusing on description.

In maths, year 2 are representing numbers on a number line (10s and 1s) whilst Y1 are ordering numbers and objects from smallest to largest and largest to smallest. Children will use numbers, dienes and Numicon in order to decide upon numbers and their order, thinking about their tens and ones.

Thank you to everyone that attended the phonics evening on Wednesday. I have sent a copy of the power point presentation via email for those that were not able to attend. If you have any questions around any of the slides, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mrs Stevens.
