Mrs Flight
Head Teacher
Music, History & Geography Lead
Mrs Flight has been head since September 2023. She has been teaching in Gloucestershire for over 25 years and has a passion for developing a love of teaching and learning. Mrs Flight has a love for the creative arts and performing; running school choirs and leading singing. She also enjoys watching and taking part in sport, particularly rugby and athletics.
Mrs Russell
School Business Manager
Mrs Russell is our school business manager and joined the team in 2015. She is part of the Paediatric First Aid Team and supports the health and safety of the children here at Amberley. Mrs Russell has been working in schools for many years and enjoys being at the forefront of the school, ensuring that things run smoothly. Born and bred in Minchinhampton, she now lives in Nailsworth with her husband and three children.
Mrs Stevens
Belted Galloway Class (Y5/6)
Teaching Assistant
Phonics Lead
Mrs Stevens has worked at Amberley since 2016 and has been a Teaching Assistant for over 25 years, having previously had a career in banking. She has worked in both KS1 and KS2 and enjoys the differing challenges each stage offers. Mrs Stevens leads phonics within the school and also carries out some of the school's pastoral work and first -aid cover. When not working, she is enjoys camping (the glamping variety), watching Gloucester Rugby and anything equine.
Mr Beech
Belted Galloway Class Teacher
(Year 5/6)
SLT, Maths and Science Lead
Mr Beech has been teaching for over 25 years, mainly in Upper Key Stage 2. He is a maths specialist and supports other schools through his role as a GLOS Ed Leader. Apart from maths, he is passionate about using novels within the classroom to enhance the children's learning. He is a senior leader at the school.
Mrs Penn

Mrs Penn has taught in Dexter Class since 2019. Prior to teaching Dexter Class, Mrs Penn worked as the Early Years Teacher at Amberley Playgroup and also worked as an EYFS Lead Practitioner for the County. She enjoys spending time with her family and has two children. She also loves playing netball, walking her two dogs and reading in her spare time. She is the school's Senior Mental Health Lead.

Governor
Mrs Cross is a very hands on Governor who has many roles in school. Her own children were taught at Amberley and she has continued to play an active role in the Amberley family. Mrs Cross is a mid day supervisor and also manages the breakfast club. She lives locally and enjoys walking on the common and reading.
Mrs Atherton
SEND lead
Mrs Atherton is the school lead for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. She has two children, who having been at Amberley, have now moved on to Secondary School. Prior to having children, she worked as a teacher in Primary Schools in Gloucester. Mrs Atherton was also, until recently, a pre-school teacher at Amberley Playgroup.
Mrs Hamilton
Hereford Class Teacher
(Year 1/2)
SLT, English and DT lead
Mrs Hamilton teaches our Year 1 and 2 children in Hereford Class. She is the school English subject lead and is Head of Key Stage One. Mrs Hamilton is an English specialist and supports other schools in her role as a GLOS Ed Leader. She is also a Key Stage One moderator.
Mrs Crampton
Friesian Class Teacher
(Y3/4)
RE, Computing and PSHE lead
Mrs Crampton teaches in Friesian class. She has been teaching for over 20 years and joined the school in February 2016 to work in Hereford class, and has since taught both Friesian and Dexter class.
Mrs Crampton is responsible for RE, PSHCE, and Computing. She is also a RE Hub leader for The Diocese of Gloucester. When she is not working, she spends her time out in the woods at Forest School, making paper cut pictures, reading and spending time with her family.
Mrs Lury
Dexter/Hereford Teaching Assistant
Lunchtime Supervisor
Mrs Lury is a teaching assistant in both Dexter and Hereford Classes, and is also a Lunchtime Supervisor. She helps ensure that the children are happy at lunchtime and play well together. Mrs Lury is extremely creative and loves sharing her skills with the children.
