This Week in Friesian Class
We have a busy week ahead of us this week!
On Monday, Year 4 will be visiting Nailsworth Primary School to watch a play centred on Internet Safety, called In the Net.
On Tuesday, we will all be going to Dunkirk Mill to find out more about the history of the mills, and to see the water wheel in action. Children will need sensible footwear, a water bottle, and hat and sun cream (pre-applied) if the weather is hot.
We will be taking a more active role in preparations for the KS2 performance too, and would like to encourage the children to continue learning the songs at home. There is a playlist available on Spotify, though please note that we have no control over the site and any links which may be available, so would advise that it is used under parental guidance. In Maths this week, we will be continuing our work on shape, and in English, we will be returning to our adventure story based on The Wild Robot by Peter Brown.
In History, we will be looking at how we know about the past, and will be using a variety of sources, such as the census materials, maps of the area (old and new), photography archives and many more, to build a picture of the 5 valleys over time. We will be creating online timelines, researching the families that once owned Dunkirk Mill, and finding out about how and why the area has changed over time.
