This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class we finish our instruction journey. We will write a final set of instructions independently, using all that we have been taught.

In Maths, Year 1 are finding one more and one less, whilst Year 2 find 10 more and 10 less. We will be spotting patterns and rules to apply to problem solving activities later on in the week.

In RE, we will be thinking about God's creation and how Christians should take care of what he provided. We will be thinking about how the world isn't always looked after and ways that we can make a difference.

We continue our Seasons Topic in Science. We will be looking at the apparent movement of the sun and how day length varies. We will then be celebrating by making something special and holding it back as a gift for Christmas!

Please don't forget the phonics evening on Wednesday at 5.30pm. This is a really informative evening and will help parents to understand how phonics is taught and how you can support your children at home. Year 3/4 are completing a Harvest Assembly on Wednesday and whilst we can only accommodate parents who have children in Friesian, we welcome donations for the food bank.

A special mention to Amelie and Monty who have both taken their learning home this week. Amelie has written a set of instructions using the structure and punctuation taught and Monty has created a HUGE seasons poster. Well done both of you! It is always so lovely to see the children engaged in their learning and exploring it further.
