This week in Hereford Class

Welcome back to Spring Term 2020. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break and enjoyed times with family and friends. Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for your generosity. The voucher and gifts are really appreciated. Thank you so much!

This week we will begin a new English topic on Newspaper reports. We will be linking this back to our History Topic of WWII and will be finding the features, looking at the structure and understanding the text.

In maths, we continue our work on fractions and finding fractions of shape. We will move onto shading shapes and applying our knowledge of fractions.

We launch our immersion curriculum this week where we are looking at our earth. We begin by looking at the UK and its capital cities before we broaden our search and look at the continents and oceans. We will use maps and atlases to locate these.

In RE we start a new topic of 'What do Christians believe God is like?' along with our new value of trust. We will be reading the story of 'The storm on the lake'. A copy of this will be sent home, so please do share this with your children.

We are excited to be welcoming back Mr Oakey this term who will be teaching outdoor learning every Friday. Please refer to the Spring Letter which will give you details of kit that your children will need.

We are looking forward to continuing to work with you and your children. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school website.
