This week in Hereford Class

Welcome back to Spring Two. I hope that you all had a fantastic half term break and managed some time to relax with your families.
This week, we begin a new topic in English. We will be exploring non-chronological reports. We will initially text mark a non-chron report, thinking about the different features and why they are used before boxing up, comprehending and beginning to write our own.
In Maths we continue with fractions, but dig a little deeper by finding fractions of objects. We will apply our knowledge of fractions of shapes and quantities to complete this confidently.
We start a new RE topic of 'Why is Easter important to Christians.' This term we will explore the meaning of Easter and what Christians do to celebrate. This week we will look at our Christian Value of Compassion and link this with the parable of 'The Good Samaritan.' Please use the attached imaginor sheet to discuss the value with your children.
In the Amberley Immersion Curriculum we start Art: Textiles. We will be designing and making our own puppets as well as completing other skills like plaiting and dip dying. An email was sent out on the last week of term asking all parents to provide an old piece of white clothing. A pair of socks will do just fine. Please bring these to school on Tuesday so that we can ensure all children have something to die.
