This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class, we continue retelling the traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs. Once we have done this, we will be planning our own versions to write independently, changing the characters and the settings, with the introductions of parodies.

In Maths we are continuing subtraction where Year 2 children are using a written method and Year 1 are using objects, number lines and other strategies to calculate quickly, using known facts.

In Immersion Curriculum we continue with our Geography and study of India. We will be looking at the equator and why areas of the world are can be hot, cold and have seasons.

Please ensure that you check your children's book bags this week. There is a letter about our Nativity which supports our RE learning of Why is Christmas important to Christians? This is being held on the church on Wednesday 7th December at both 2pm and 6pm. Please bring young children to the afternoon performance if possible. A fee small items of clothing are required to go underneath some of the costumes. If you have any questions around this, please do not hesitate to ask.

We have our trip to the cathedral this Wednesday. Please ensure that all children are in school by 8.45am so we can leave promptly. They all need a packed lunch. No yoghurts or fizzy drinks please.

Your children we all visit the library this week and now we have a wonderful librarian (thank you Mrs Bayly), children will visit each Tuesday afternoon, to choose a book to bring home. They can change this once a week alongside their decodable reading books. If children wish to keep the book for more than one week, this is absolutely fine but children are asked to only have one library book at a time.
