This Week in Hereford Class
This week in Hereford Class we start a new maths journey. We will be subtracting. Year 1 will be subtracting using objects, number lines and then starting to use some mental strategies. Year 2 will be subtracting tens and ones before using this to subtract a 2 digit number from another 2 digit number.
We start a new journey in English also. We will be learning and retelling the traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs. We will be reading and retelling the story orally before we comprehend and write the story in our own words.
Our Immersion Curriculum will be beginning to rehearse our nativity this week - Christmas with the Aliens. Lots of children have received their scripts and I would be so grateful if you could please practise the children's lines with them. Our new Immersion Curriculum subject is Geography. We will be studying India and comparing it to Amberley. This will be across the next two weeks. The overview and ways to support your children at home is attached.
In RE, we continue to explore the Christmas Story, understanding how Christians prepare for Christmas.
Parents' evening for all parents booked in for last Wednesday will be this Wednesday 16th November between 3.30pm and 7pm. All timeslots will remain the same unless you have already been in touch to say that the time no longer suits. Thank you for your understanding with the change of day.
