This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class, we are excited to be innovating the story of 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea'. We will be planning our own versions, thinking about new characters, including the animal who comes to tea. Year 1 will be supported through this process, whilst Year 2 children will be independent, making their own choices.

In Maths, we will be focusing on mental methods - we will be finding bonds to 10 and 20, and Year 2, to 100 and other multiples of 10. Mrs Hamilton has enjoyed designing challenging activities for us to tackle!

In RE, we will be exploring some of the Muslim holy words and looking at their special book - the Qur'an, understanding some of their key beliefs.

In the Immersion Curriculum, we begin a new journey of Geography. We will be focusing on the country of Italy and exploring what it is like, what we might see, what people do whilst identifying key features and different parts - learning what a city, town, village and coastal and rural areas are. (Overview attached)

Thank you to those of you who attended the Phonics Evening on Wednesday. If you were unable to make it, please refer to the BLOG regarding this and you will be able to download the information which was given on the evening.

There is a Harvest Worship in the church on Sunday 9th October 2022. Letters went home last week. Please return the slip to indicate your attendance so that we are aware of numbers.
