This week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class we are continuing our journey through RE and English.

In RE we continue to think about The Creation Story and the amazing things in our world. Last week we thought about how sometimes people don't treat God's creation as they should and we thought of ways that we can make the world a better place. This week we are going to think about the amazing world that we do live in, making connections to the 7 days of Creation.

In English we are writing the story of Not Now Bernard by David McKee. We have already enjoyed writing the beginning (Year 1) and the opening and build up (Year 2) and we will continue to retell the different parts of the story as the week progresses. Miss Holden has given us all individual next steps to help us improve our writing.

In Maths we have finished our counting in 2s and 3s and we move onto bonds to 10 (Year 1) and 20 (Year 2). We are looking at making these numbers first and then recalling them rapidly.

In the Immersion Curriculum we are moving onto our Science Topic: Seasons. We will be observing the changes across the seasons, the apparent movement of the sun and discussing the different weather we may see. Some of us need to practise saying our months of the year and this is something that you could practise at home. This is a two week journey. The overview of the skills and knowledge is attached along with key vocabulary.

Thank you for all the parents that attended the phonics' evening. I sent out the power point to you all so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
