This Week in Hereford Class

This week in Hereford Class, in Maths, we are ordering numbers from smallest to largest and largest to smallest. Year one will be looking at 2 digit numbers whilst Year 2 will be ordering numbers that have been represented in different ways.

We will write the ending to 'Peace at last' by Jill Murphy before we innovate and change the story to make it our own. We are looking forward to have a Islamic prayer bead display up in the hall. Miss Holden will take a photo of our art work where we designed prayer beads that represented the different names of Allah. We will continue to learn about the Islamic faith this week.

You should have all received an Immersion Curriculum overview for this week's Geography topic of Iceland. There were a few overviews left on tables on Friday but a copy is on the Hereford page should you not have one. We will be locating Iceland and finding out about what it is like there. We will also be learning key vocabulary such as: coastal, rural, town, city, village as well as physical and human features. Children will be using grid references and compass directions to explain where some of the features can be found.

Children got extremely muddy during outdoor learning this week (sorry about this!) Miss Holden took home the overalls and washed them so the children can use them again next week. Children are very welcome to bring in their own but we have purchased sets to be used should the weather be grim! Please ensure children have wellies for Fridays as the Planny is incredibly muddy!
