This week in Hereford Class

We are excited to start a new topic of science this week where we are looking at materials and their uses. We are starting with a hunt around school, looking for objects using grid references on a map. We will be exploring their properties and why they are suitable for different objects.

In maths we are moving on from 2D shapes and onto 3D shapes. We are identifying them and discussing their properties (faces, edges and vertices). We will be using our knowledge of 2D shapes to describe their faces.

In English, we continue with our biography writing where we will be writing a biography about Rosa Parks. Please see our blog for some examples of our introductions of biographies which ends our Wonder Women history topic.

In RE we are thinking about to last week's lesson where we thought about special people and objects. This week we are linking this with people and objects that are special to Jews. Miss Holden is currently arranging a trip to a synagogue to explore where Jewish people pray. Please look out for a letter in the upcoming weeks regarding this as well as another trip, linked to our Great Fire of London topic in the Summer Term.
