This Week in Friesian Class
Welcome back! I cannot believe we have made it to the Summer term already. Myself and Mrs Stevens hope you have all enjoyed a restful Easter break, it was fantastic to catch up with the children today.
In RE, we will be starting our new unit by introducing our new Christian Value of the term: Justice. We will be retelling the story of Jonah and the Whale and relating this to our new value.
In maths, we will be recapping our knowledge of decimals and starting to compare and order them.
In English, we will be reinventing the Greek myth: Theseus and the Minotaur. The children will be creating their own characters to eventually write their own version.
In Immersion Curriculum we are learning about looking after ourselves as part of PSHE. We will be learning about things that can be harmful to our bodies and the affects of alcohol and tobacco. We will also be learning about how our brain manages different feelings and how these can affect our behaviour.
Information about the topics that we will be covering in Immersion Curriculum will be published on the website, so please look out for the topic maps that will be uploaded at the start of each unit of work.
Reading books were changed today and will be changed again on Thursday. Please can I remind all parents to read daily with their children and record this in their reading record.
Practise of rapid recall of times tables is extremely important so I ask that children work on this as often as they can in their own time.
As always, if you have any questions, please email me!
