This week in Friesian Class...

This week in Friesian Class we will be thinking about how Christians should treat God’s creation in RE. I ask that the children bring something in that they are proud of ready for Friday’s lesson so we can think about how we would ask other’s to respect it. This could be a piece of artwork, a picture, a trophy or certificate.

In English, we have started a story writing unit where we will be retelling, boxing up and comprehending the traditional tale of Little Red Riding Hood. In maths, Y3 will be partitioning 3-digit numbers into hundreds, tens and ones and also thinking about how we could partition these differently. Y4 will be continuing their Place Value unit by counting in multiples of 25 and 1000, this will then lead to identifying 4-digit numbers on a number line. In Immersion Curriculum, we are musicians and the children are learning to play the recorder. We have been re-capping our knowledge of the musical elements and learning different musical notes. We will then be learning how to play these notes on a recorder and performing!

Due to the busy nature of Friday’s in Friesian Class, we have decided that we will be changing reading books every Monday and Thursday from now on. Please can I ask that you are reading with your child at any possibility and writing this in their reading record.

Can I also remind parents that I teach PE every Thursday and Mr Spurrier teaches PE every Friday so the children will need PE kits with them on both of these days. On Thursdays, the children are required to come into school in their school uniform with their PE kit ready to change into. On Friday, the children are required to come into school in their Outdoor Learning clothes and bring their PE kit to change into. As the colder, wetter days draw closer, it is important that the children have spare clothes and shoes to change into.
