This Week in Friesian Class

This week, we will be turning our skills to cookery as we start a unit of work as designers with food technology. We will learn about where our food comes from, how sustainably it is grown, reared or processed, and how healthy it is, as well as helping to cook a vegetable curry!

In English, we will be completing our own 'Escape from Pompeii' stories and will then work as proof readers and editors to finalise our work, before sharing it with the class.

In maths, Year 4 will be working on their multiplication and division skills, whilst Year 3 refine their formal calculation methods for addition and subtraction.

In computing, we will be learning about sound recording and will begin to make our own podcasts.

On Tuesday morning, the FOA have arranged a surprise for the children, which we are very excited about! I am sure that you will hear all about it when they get home! Thank you, FAO!

We will be visiting Horsfall house on Tuesday afternoon, and would like to thank all those who have volunteered to help with transportation. The children have been learning to sing Ruldolph the Red-nosed Reindeer using sign language in order to share it with the residents. If you have not yet handed in your permission letter, or confirmed that you are still able to help with lifts, please could I ask that you do so ASAP? If you intend to donate a gift, as per the reverse advent calendar letter (on the class page), please could you ensure that it is bought in on Tuesday morning at the latest?
