This Week in Friesian Class

Welcome back! I hope that you have all had a good break. We are looking forward to seeing you at parents' evening this week, on Wednesday and Thursday. If you have not yet booked in, please contact Mrs Russell.

This week, we will be continuing our work as historians, but will be jumping forward in time from Roman Britain to the 20th Century where we will be learning about World War Two. We will be finding out about The Battle of Britain, The Blitz and rationing, among other aspects of this period of time. We will culminate our week with a visit to the Amberley War Memorial on Friday.

In maths, we will be looking at addition and subtraction, and will be developing our understanding and application of formal methods of calculations, as well as taking part in some of the White Rose Maths Hub 'Barvember' challenges.

In English, we will be reading a new book, 'Escape from Pompeii' by Christina Balit, and will begin a new writing journey where we will plan and write our own 'escape' stories.
