This Week in Friesian Class

This week, we will begin by completing our work as artists, using mark making, and will then start a new unit of learning as historians. We will be learning about the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain. It is clearly a subject that the children are already interested in, and we are looking forward to developing their understanding further (I have some really exciting activities to inspire them!)

In maths, we will be comparing and ordering numbers and developing our understanding of rounding. Alongside this, we will be continuing to develop our recall of number facts, including multiplication and addition. As usual, the QR code for practicing tables online is included below.

In English, we will be learning about newspaper reports and will be using reading articles linked to a fictional archaeological dig in which Roman artefacts have been found. We will also be starting a new whole class guided reading book, "Empire's End- A Roman Story" by Leila Rasheed, which is a gripping Roman adventure told by a young North African girl who sets out on a danger-filled journey to Britain.

In computing, we will be continuing our work on online identity and looking further at how people portray themselves online as well as finding out more about how the internet works.
