This Week in Dexter Class

This week, we will be reading 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak, and will be basing much of our learning around the book.

In phonics, we will be reviewing the trickier alternative digraphs for the sounds ee/ea and oi/oy, and will be focusing on improving our recall for reading and writing of the tricky and high frequency words from phase 4.

In maths, we will be looking at measure and will be estimating, measuring and comparing capacity and length. We will also be working on our recall of number bonds and associated subtraction facts, and using numberlines to add and take away.

In RE, we will be learning about Hindu shrines and Mandirs, and spotting similarities and differences between the two and with other faith places of worship.

We will be welly walking on Wednesday, and on Friday, we will be holding sports day. Please make sure that your child has a water bottle, a hat and suncream (put on before school) if the weather is hot. We look forward to seeing you for the afternoon races.
