This Week in Dexter Class

This week in Dexter class, we will be learning about Christian beliefs associated with the festival of Pentecost in our RE lessons. We will be experimenting with the power of wind in order to help our understanding of forces that can not be seen.
In maths, we will be continuing to develop our understanding of numbers beyond ten and understanding what is meant by the arrangement of digits that represent them. We will also be practising ordering numbers and using number lines to count on to add, as well as challenging ourselves with the rapid recall challenge at the end of the week.
In phonics, we will be developing our reading and writing of high frequency and tricky words. You will have found the personalised card which we have sent home, which details the words your child is focusing on. It will help them greatly if you can incorporate some practice of these words when reading at home with your child, please.
In literacy, language and communication, we will be talking and writing about the fabulous cow hunt. We were so pleased to have been blessed with the weather and would like to thank all those involved in the immense levels of organisation and facilitation- the Amberley family at its best! It was a fantastic event and we are so pleased that you were able to experience it in its fully glory after a few years off.
