This Week in Dexter Class

This week in Dexter Class, we will be focusing on two books, 'Monkey Puzzle', by Julia Donaldson, and "'The Rainforest Grew All Around' by Susan K Mitchell. Both books centre on rainforests. As we will be developing our understanding of tropical forests and the creatures that live there, we will also be looking at character emotion and story development. In phonics, we will be continuing to develop our ability to sight read high frequency and tricky words, and read and write consonant letter strings in words. We will of course, be applying this knowledge and skill in our own play and in other areas of our learning.

In maths, we will be looking at partitioning numbers up to 20 and will work on developing our addition skills by counting on. In RE, we will be thinking more about God's Creation, and looking at how people of different faiths thank God. Please keep checking Tapestry for updates on your children's learning.
