This week in Dexter class
This term we will be teaching the children about our value of service and discussing how we can be of help to others. On Monday, we will be visiting the war memorial at 11am to remember all of those brave service men and woman who have given service to our country in years gone by and also in more recent conflicts. We will be holding a 2 minute silence so that we can reflect and show thankfulness to them.
In guided reading we will be continuing to look at Supertato in more detail by producing our own story maps, describing the characters and making up our own characters, writing captions and labels. We will make masks for our characters and also link to health and self care by talking about different types of food and what we need to have a healthy diet. We will also be having races against the sand timer to see how many evil peas we can capture with the tweezers!
In maths we are continuing to look at number bonds to 5 and we are using Roberta and Robert the robots to help us find all the different ways of making numbers to 5.
I am looking forward to meeting with you on Wednesday or Thursday at parents' evening this week. If you haven't already done so please sign up for a 10 minute slot on either evening.
