This week in Belted Galloway

This week, Belted Galloaway class will be attending an authors' event at the Everyman theatre in Cheltenham. We will be hearing from the authors of two books that we have been studying and enjoying this year: Ross Mackenzie, who wrote the Nowhere Emporium, a fantasy adventure about stealing imagination and creating a fantastic world, and S.E. Durrant who wrote Running on Empty, a gritty novel about a boy growing up in inner city London with parents with learning difficulties, coping with the death of his grandfather. We have really enjoyed both books, so are looking forward to hearing from the authors.

Excitingly, three of our children have been chosen to read some of their work on stage at the theatre. Tilly, Skye and Lila will be reading work inspired by Running on Empty to the author of the book that inspired them!

Fiction has played a really important part in Belted Galloway this year, and this is a superb way to end the year.
