This Week in Friesian Class

This week in Freisian Class , we have been continuing our portal stories. The children are really enjoying writing their own version of a portal story and they have come up with some fantastic ideas.

In maths, we started the week with a brilliant, practical, fractions lesson, taught by Mr Beech. We turned the classroom into a pirate ship and the children explored different practical representations of fractions. It was so much fun! We have used the skills that we learnt in the lesson to continue with fractions this week, moving onto equivalent fractions and adding fractions.

In RE, we are continuing with our Hinduism unit, focusing on Dharma, Karma and Reincarnation. The children learnt a lot about the meaning of these three words and then used what they had learnt to create their own quiz questions to test the rest of the class. They really enjoyed being the quiz masters!

In geography this week, we are continuing with our extreme survival topic. The children will be looking at lines of latitude and longitude and finding the co-ordinates of different places. Mr Payne (James' dad) will be visiting us on Friday afternoon to talk about his own experience of Extreme Survival. We are very much looking forward to his visit. Thank you for your continued support.
