This Week in Friesian Class

This week in Friesian Class we have finished our innovation story of 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' and we are now moving on to writing our own version of a portal story. We will also use on of our English sessions to write up the method and results of our science investigation that we completed last week. The children planned and carried out their own investigation in groups based on the question 'Does temperature affect the rate at which clothes dry?' The children will use their results to make a bar graph.

In maths, we started the week with a very interesting STOPS problem solving lesson. The children had to find all of the different solutions for packing their toys in pairs. They then had to find the pattern for the number of solutions each time you added another toy. They did some fantastic problem solving. For the rest of the week, we will continue with fractions. This week we will focus on finding equivalent fractions.

In Music, the children will continue to compose their own piece using quavers, crochets, minims and rests.
