This week in Hereford Class

This week we finish off our Instruction writing journey, by writing a full set independently. In maths we are representing numbers in different ways (Year 2), using number lines, dienes and coins. Year 1 are looking at finding one more and one less – many children are able to do this, so are being given application and reasoning activities to deepen this understanding. In RE we will be discussing what leaders are, what they do and link this to the Prophet Mohammed and the leader he is to Muslims. We begin a new Immersion Curriculum topic this week: Explorers. This will be Year one’s first immersion curriculum and we are looking forward to having them in class full time. We will be exploring both Neil Armstrong and Christopher Columbus this week, looking at why they became famous. We’ve started off the topic by looking at our life events in order and even had chance to laugh at some photos of Miss Holden as a baby and growing up! Please remember children are to come to school in PE kit both on Thursday and Friday, with their Outdoor Learning kit in a bag, for Friday afternoon.
