This Week in Friesian Class

This week, in Friesian class, we will be continuing our work as geographers and will be learning about maps and finding out about the changes in land use over time, in the local area. As part of this work, we are hoping to explore the surrounding area on Monday (weather permitting - we will go on Tuesday if it is pouring on Monday!), so would be grateful if children could come to school on Monday/ Tuesday with sensible shoes on, and bring a coat with them.

In maths, Year 3 are continuing work on fractions, and Year 4 are looking at ordering and comparing decimal numbers. In English, we will be writing the build up and problems of our own journey stories based on The FIrework Maker's Daughter by Philip Pullman, and will be continuing with our new, and very amusing, whole class guided reading book, Storm Hound by Claire Fayers.

Please remember that there are planned strikes on Wednesday and Thursday this week, and our class, along with Belted Galloway and Hereford, will be closed. We are very grateful for your continued support, as all the staff at Amberley want the best, not only for the children we teach, but those in other schools across the country, and do not take the decision to take part in industrial action lightly.
