This week in Friesian Class...

This week in Friesian Class we will be continuing our Hinduism unit by looking at Hindu dieties. We will be exploring the Trimurti and developing our understanding of how Hindus worship their God/Gods.

In English, we have finished our instruction writing unit and we have started our story writing unit. We have retold the traditional tale of Cinderella and the children enjoyed creating their own story maps in order to do so.

In maths, the children have shown off their developing place value knowledge and stretched this to find 1, 10 and 100 more and less than any given number. Y4s have been taking this one step further and have been finding 1000 more and less than any given number also!

In Immersion Curriculum we have been scientists! We have enjoyed our light topic over the past two weeks. We have explored how light can be reflected and how it also created shadows. We have considered the damage that sun can do and how we can prevent this. We have also learnt about how the Earth, moon and sun move around each other and enjoyed showing off how we can explain this using scientific vocabulary!

Next week, we will be electing our School Council members. Over the weekend, please consider whether you are someone who would like to be part of the School Council with Mrs Crampton. I have given each child a sheet where they can write down some ideas of why they think they would be a good candidate. They can then share their ideas with the class next week and we will hold a vote.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.
