This week in Friesian Class

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed a restful half term after a busy first term in school.

This week in Friesian Class we will be starting our new RE topic ‘How do festivals and family life show what is important to Jewish people?’ by looking at our Value of the Term: Service. We will be retelling the bible story ‘Queen Esther Saves Her People’ and asking ourselves how a story that is so old can affect our lives today.

In English, we are starting a new journey finding the features, boxing up and comprehending a non-chronological report. In maths, Y3 are mentally adding 3-digit numbers and ones and stretching their learning to add 3-digit numbers and tens. Y4 are building on their knowledge of rounding by rounding 3 and 4-digit numbers to the nearest 100.

In Immersion Curriculum, we are artists. We will be painting landscapes with watercolours this week, but first we will be refining our painting skills and experimenting with different techniques.

Miss Rudge will continue to teach PE on a Thursday and Mr Spurrier will teach PE on a Friday. The children have Outdoor Learning first thing on a Friday morning so please can I ask that the children come to school in suitable Outdoor Learning clothes, with a change of clothes for PE.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via our class page. All messages are sent directly to my email.

Miss Rudge
