This week in Friesian Class

Thank you so much to those of you who came to join us for our Harvest celebrations, and for your generous donations. The children were so proud of themselves for their performance. This week, we will be immersing ourselves in history as we learn about the Romans in Britain. We will be learning about what life was like for the Celtic people living here, and how their lives changed. We will be developing our concept of time, as we try to put events in world history on a timeline and relate them to each other. We will be visited by Ms Stoten on Wednesday afternoon and will be finding out about archaeology and handling artefacts.

In English, we will be continuing our unit on newspaper reports where we will be writing our own reports about an archaeological dig at Hadrian's wall.

In maths, we will be continuing to develop formal written methods for addition and subtraction, and will be looking at parallel, perpendicular, horizontal and vertical lines, angles, and lines of symmetry in 2d shapes.

In computing we will be adding sound effects to our animations and will also be using the computers to complete further research on the Roman invasion of Britain.
