This Week in Friesian Class

It was so lovely to see you all at parents' evening last week. Thank you so much for taking the time to come in.

This week, we are very much looking forward to meeting Christian Darkin, who will be coming to talk to us about his work as a children's author on Wednesday, as part of the Amberley Book Day. Please remember that there is no obligation to dress up - children are welcome to come in their pjs for a bedtime story theme!

In maths, we will be continuing our work on fractions and Year 3 children will, towards the end of the week, be looking at capacity.

In English, we will be continuing our work on Kensuke's Kingdom and will be developing our descriptive writing further as we portray the character of Kensuke himself.

In science, we will be investigating the digestive system and finding out about how the intestines work through a rather revolting simulation involving a pair of tights, a mashed banana and some orange juice!

We will also be learning about the teeth and finding out about the impact of different drinks on teeth enamel.

In computing, we will be recording and interpreting data using light and sound detecting software, and finding out about how these sorts of programs are used in the 'real world'.
