This Week in Dexter Class
This week, we will be starting our week in our pyjamas in order to raise funds for Stroud District Kids' Stuff. Make sure you wrap up though, as we will still be going to church!
In phonics this week, we will be focusing on the digraphs (two letters making one sound) sh, th, ch and ng, and will, as ever, be using these sounds in our reading and writing of simple words and captions.
In maths, we will be returning to one more and one less and will be working with numbers to 6, and noting the connection to consecutive numbers on a number line.
In RE, we will be discussing why Christians celebrate the birth of Christ and what special things they do at Christmas time to share God's love. We will also be learning about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah which starts today and lasts for 8 days.
In literacy, language and communication, we will be reading Stick Man, by Julia Donaldson and will be creating word mats, story maps and will be taking part in different crafts related to the story.
We will be welly walking on Wednesday this week, so please make sure that your child has a suitably warm coat, hat and gloves!
