This week in Dexter Class

This week we will be learning 'ure', the remaining phase 3 sound in Mrs Smith and Mrs Crampton's group and will be making ourselves more familiar with the digraphs (two letter, one sound) and trigraphs (three letters, one sound) that children have found trickier. Mrs Smith and Mrs Lury's group will be attempting to apply their phonetic knowledge to cvcc and ccvc words.

In maths, we will be looking at addition and will be attempting the Amberley rapid recall club maths challenges, as well as solving problems and developing our subitising skills.

We are looking forward to finding out about our focus children's interests and seeing where there ideas will take our learning. We will be continuing to learn the 'Owl babies' story and will, no doubt, learn more about different types of owl, a subject which has been a huge hit!

We will be welly walking on Wednesday this week.

On Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day whilst dressed in our pyjamas!
