This Week in Belted Galloway Class

As we move further into the summer term, we are increasingly focussing on ensuring the Year 6 children in particular are secure in those aspects of the curriculum that they need to be 'secondary secure' by the end of Year 6. It has been so wonderful to see how positive and focussed both Year 5 and Year 6 children have been in maths and grammar and punctuation lessons: their drive to improve and learn has been really inspiring, and there is a real thirst for success. In Science this week, we have been learning about Sound, while in maths we have been focussing on algebra and balancing equations. Our English work has been centred around the dark and deep picture book The Viewer, which has really caught the children's imaginations.
