Growing Together - Children's Mental Health Week

This week is Children's Mental Health week, and throughout the week, we will be discussing the topic of good mental health and finding out about ways to keep ourselves to help ourselves to 'grow together'.

Place2be is a charity which supports children's mental health initiatives and they offer a variety of resources and ideas to promote and encourage good practices which support mental health in young people. Visit their parents' and carers' section for top tips and ideas: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/parents-and-carers/

This year's theme of 'Growing Together' fits beautifully with our school vision and values, and the Parable of the Sower, as it offers the opportunity for children (and adults) to consider how they have grown, and how they can help others to grow.

With 1 in 6 children and young people in the UK struggling with issues like divorce, bereavement, bullying, and suffering diagnosable mental health problems, they need adults in their corner. Here at Amberley, we firmly believe that it is important for children to understand that there should not be a stigma attached to mental health issues and that everyone can help so that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone.

If you would like further information regarding access to mental health support, please feel free to contact the school, or visit: https://www.place2be.org.uk/page/get-urgent-help/#
