This Week in Hereford Class

Due to a shorter week, last week, we will be continuing with our Art: Textiles unit in the Amberley Immersion Curriculum. Thank you all for providing white items in order for us to practise the skill of dip dying.

This week in Hereford Class, we continue with our fraction journey. We are finding fractions of objects, using what we learnt previously, to fine 1/2 and 1/4 (Year 1) and 1/2, 1/4, 1/3 and 3/4 using the bar model and our times tables knowledge to help us with this.

In English, we now on a new Non-Fiction Unit of Non-Chronological Reports. This week we will be ordering a report, understanding that the paragraphs do not have to be in any particular order, but that the subheadings, titles and captions must be appropriately used. We will then comprehend a report, showing an understanding of the features. We will then move onto writing a report, we will be mind mining moles and select topics to write about based on the AIC. When we found the features and boxed up, we linked it back to Science - Electricity.

In RE, we move onto a new unit of - Easter: Why is Easter important to Christians? We will be exploring the Christian beliefs and practices around this time of year.

During WC 20.3.23 we will be completing Art: Collage and I wondered if you would be kind enough to please save any newspapers/magazines that you may have finished with. You can bring them into school anytime and I can keep them ready for that week.

Parents' evening will also be held this week, on Wednesday until 5pm and Thursday until 7pm. Sign up sheets will be available next week. Please grab your 10 minute slot.
