This week in Hereford Class

We are excited to beginning a new fictional journey in English this week. We are going to be learning and retelling the story of 'Avocado baby' by John Burningham. Miss Holden has even bought some avocadoes for us to try! Hopefully, we don't grow as strong as the baby in our story!

In Maths we begin a new unit too - time. We will be learning to tell the time using an analogue clock. Year 1 will be telling the times: o'clock and half past, whilst year 2 will be learning to tell the time at 15 minute intervals and then even onto 5! Please complete daily practise with your children.

In RE we will be closing our unit of what do Christians believe God is like by digging deeper into God being forgiving. We will be re-visiting the parable of 'The Lost Son' and thinking about the prayers the people in the story may complete: asking for help, asking for forgiveness etc. We will also be reflecting on this term's value of trust.

In our Immersion Curriculum we are completing another week of art. This week we will be painting (overview attached). We will be learning to mix powder paints to make primary colours, mix primary colours to make secondary colours as well as using thick and thin brushes and adding black and white to make tints and tones.

It is the last day of Spring 1 on Friday and we will officially be half way threw the year! Where has the time gone? I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy half term!
