This week in Dexter Class

Welcome back!

We hope that you had a good break and are ready for the Summer Term. It is hard to believe that we have already reached this point in the year!

This week we will be starting to bring in slightly more formal writing sessions, in groups a few times a week. This will give the children the opportunity to work with fewer distractions and develop their independence, as well a put all their learning so far into action.

We have started learning the story of 'Farmer Duck' by Martin Waddell and will be using this as a basis for our writing tasks.

In maths we are looking at counting, ordering and number recognition, and will be creating a class maths investigation book based on 'One is a snail, ten in a crab' by April Pulley Sayre.

We will be welly walking on Wednesday and are looking forward to the warmer weather. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately, with a hat and sunscreen, when the hot weather comes, as we spend considerable time outside.

Thank you for your continued support.
