This week in Friesian Class
This week, we are continuing with our work on Romeo and Juliet and will be planning our own versions of the story, in preparation for writing our own tragedies. In maths, we are looking at finding fractions of quantities and numbers, comparing fractions and will be completing the Rapid Recall Challenge. In RE, we will be finding out more about the Five Pillars of Islam, and will be focusing on prayer. We will also be setting aside some time in our week for reflection and a chance to discuss the importance of taking time for quiet and calm in order to maintain good mental health- something very necessary during such uncertain times. In computing, we will be looking at educational websites aimed at children, finding out more about vlogging, and discussing how search engines work. In our science immersion work, we will be learning about the human skeleton and internal organs, and will take part in an investigation into how bones grow as children get older. We are currently reading Micheal Morpurgo's 'Kensuke's Kingdom' in guided reading sessions, which the children are really enjoying. It is wonderful to hear such willing and enthusiastic readers as they 'drop in and drop out', taking turns to read.
