Fake News?

There has been much in the new this week, regarding the ‘hacking’ of online videos and games, something which has since been reported as a hoax which is being sensationalised by the media and then spread via social media by people who are understandably worried. There are many fact checking websites which can help us to identify such ‘fake news’, one of which is www.thatsnonsense.com/

It is worth remembering that, although there are many hoaxes out there, the internet has many positive aspects and it is important for us to talk to our young people about what they can do to keep themselves safer when they are online. There are many helpful hints on the Safer Internet UK site about how to tackle issues with your children. https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/advice-centre/parents-and-carers
